My laptop has an FN key combination to turn up my headphone volume, but I connect my old HP external keyboard to my laptop at home. This old HP keyboard does not have the FN key or volume controller. So, I have to go back to my laptop keyboard to change my headphone volume. This is tedious. So, I create a keyboard shortcut for the volume control in Ubuntu, and I want to show how to do it.
Press Window Key –> Type “Settings”

Click Settings and scroll down to “Keyboard Shortcut”

Scroll down and Click “+”

Type a new keyboard shortcut name “Volume Up” and clock Set Shortcut.

A dialog below pops up, and then press Ctrl and Up arrow keys.

Do the same thing for Volume down with keyboard combination Ctrl + Down arrow keys.

Press Ctrl + Up or Ctrl + Down arrows. You now see volume measure after you press the keyboard shortcut combinations.
